Lola Suphar Guffey, 84, of 2525 Boutin Drive died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born on April 15, 1914, at Marble Hill, daughter of James Madison and Rada Stephens Mungle.
She was a housewife.
She was a member of Foursquare Church. She worked at the Dixie Cream Donut Shop for a number of years.
She was born and raised in Bollinger County and had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1927.
She married Leonard Sample on March 3, 1927, at Scopus. He died Aug. 20, 1939.
She then married Luther Guffey on Oct. 26, 1940, at Benton. He died Feb. 1, 1963.
Survivors include two sons, Doyle and Lindsay Sample, both of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Betty Niswonger of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Azalea Young of Kansas City, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and two grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.
Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.
The Rev. Terry Deckard will officiate, with burial in Lorimier Cemetery.
