BENTON, Mo. — Lois Eva Jones, 84, of Benton died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 27, 1924, in Finley, Tenn., daughter of Charles and Berdie Permenter Pinnon. She and Elbert "Preacher" Jones were married Oct. 21, 1939, in Charleston, Mo. He died Nov. 12, 1973.
Jones and her family owned Jones Grocery in Benton. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton and the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include two sons, Don Jones of Benton, Bill Jones of East Prairie, Mo.; a daughter, Jean McCourt of Benton, Mo.; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Benton Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at Morley, Mo.
