Lois Martha Fehrmann, 90, of Jackson fell asleep in the loving arms of her beloved Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, Dec. 4, 2023.

She was born June 15, 1933, in Newton, Kansas, daughter of the late Rev. Berthold and Bernice Bock Loesel. She was first married to Victor Wroge, who preceded her in death in 1974. She and the Rev. Walter Fehrmann were married Nov. 1, 1975, in Billings, Montana. He preceded her in death June 19, 2017.

Lois had a love for music from a very young age. She began playing the organ for church at the age of 10 and continued to play until she was 86. She taught piano and organ lessons for 50 years and always had a yearly recital for her students.

Lois always had a garden. She loved to cook and can foods, along with making syrups, jams and homemade meals for her family. For her children, she would make choke-cherry syrup and sourdough pancakes, a special delicacy. She was best known for her dill pickles and dill beans. Lois had a deep and abiding love for anything chocolate.

Lois and Walter spent many years traveling all over the world, and she enjoyed journaling about their travels and experiences. During one of her trips to Germany, she had the privilege of playing 27 pipe organs in churches they visited.

She was a loving mother who made it a top priority that her family held a firm Christian faith. The most important thing to her was that her family knew the love of Jesus Christ. She was a kind and loving caregiver to her parents and both husbands, Victor and Walter.

She was a deaconess in the Lutheran church, a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson and also a member of Concordia Guild and Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
