Lois Elaine Myers, 81, of Whitewater passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born Aug. 5, 1942, in Cape Girardeau County, the daughter of Dale and Ethel Irene Sawyer Grindstaff. Elaine and Robert Myers were united in marriage Sept. 4, 1964. One son, Rob, was born to their union Feb. 18, 1967, and he died Jan. 1, 1997...

Lois Elaine Myers, 81, of Whitewater passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 5, 1942, in Cape Girardeau County, the daughter of Dale and Ethel Irene Sawyer Grindstaff. Elaine and Robert Myers were united in marriage Sept. 4, 1964. One son, Rob, was born to their union Feb. 18, 1967, and he died Jan. 1, 1997.

Elaine lived most of her life near the Lake Girardeau community. She graduated from Jackson High School. She attended Barks Chapel near Lake Girardeau, and she enjoyed singing southern gospel songs.

Elaine is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rob; and sister and brother-in-law, Shelba and William Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sydney Laxton and the Rev. David Kempfer officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorial donations may be made in Elaine's memory to Barks Chapel.
