BLOOMFIELD -- Lois E. Mooney, 73, of Bloomfield died Sunday, Dec. 3, 1995, in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 28, 1922, near Dexter to Randal and Zora Jarrell Evans. She married Elvis A. Mooney Nov. 10, 1941.
She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School and attended Abilene Christian College in Abilene, Texas. She had been a secretary at her husband's law practice in Bloomfield since 1947.
She was a member of the Stoddard County Democratic Committee and served as treasurer for many years. She received the Bess Truman Award from the Democratic Women's Club. She was also a member of the Bloomfield Chapter of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and had served as worthy matron.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kathryn Mooney Skelton of Cape Girardeau; a son, Elvis A. Mooney Jr. of Bloomfield; a brother, Jarrell Evans of Las Vegas; and a grandson. She was preceded in death by a sister.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Services are Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Dexter, with Jim Faughn officiating. Burial will follow in Walker Cemetery.
