PRESCOTT, Ariz. — Loeta Joyce McMackin Bahn, 82, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, in Prescott following a brief battle with cancer.

She was born March 16, 1934, in St. Louis to the late Trudell Marie Bishop McMackins and Oren Aubrey McMackins.

Loeta spent her early childhood in Caruthersville, Missouri. In adulthood, she moved to Cape Girardeau, where she worked as a commercial artist.

Loeta married Dr. Charles F. Bahn on Sept. 25, 1976, in Cape Girardeau and quickly stepped into a household of five teenage and young adult children, after the death of their mother. Upon her husband’s retirement, they moved to Prescott, where she has lived for 28 years. As an active member of Solid Rock Christian Fellowship (formerly First Baptist Church of Prescott), she participated in numerous activities of the Praise Sunday school class.

Many things gave Loeta joy. Her strong faith in Jesus was the solid foundation for everything in her life. She was gifted with creativity and was an accomplished oil landscape painter, earning many best-in-show ribbons and awards at local Arizona art shows. She played piano and had a beautiful singing voice. She had a tender heart for all living things. Javelina, deer, quail and songbirds were regular visitors at their bird bath and bird feeder.
