Loawana "Miss Dottie" McKee, 85, of Olive Branch, Illinois, passed away at 1:08 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born on April 16, 1934 in Rosewood Heights, Illinoia, to Herman and Lois Marie (Pate) Bregger. She married Otha "Gene" McKee on Nov. 16, 1957. He preceded her in death Aug. 31, 2002...

Loawana "Miss Dottie" McKee, 85, of Olive Branch, Illinois, passed away at 1:08 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on April 16, 1934 in Rosewood Heights, Illinoia, to Herman and Lois Marie (Pate) Bregger. She married Otha "Gene" McKee on Nov. 16, 1957. He preceded her in death Aug. 31, 2002.

As a mother and a military wife for more than 20 years, Miss Dottie traveled all over the world. While her family was stationed at Scott Air Force Base, she worked in tailor shops and clothing sales. After settling in Olive Branch, she was one of the first supervisors at the Olive Branch Christian Academy. She loved the outdoors, camping, horseback riding, traveling and bowling. Miss Dottie was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, LaDonn (Terry) Hilla, LeiLani (James) Haltmar and LaNaye (Jim) Perkins, all of Olive Branch; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Marilyn (Robert) Bailey of Olive Branch.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; sister, Vera Hignight; and brother, Robert McLean.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Illinois.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Curt Alderson officiating. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations may be made to Fellowship of Christians and Jews or AFMDA (American Friends of Magen David Adom), causes near and dear to Miss Dottie's heart.
