CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Lloyd H. Schearf, 92, of Chaffee passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at his home.
He was born July 21, 1924, in Delta to the late Phillip and Myrtle Stoffregen Schearf. He married Onita Stone on Oct. 10, 1947, and she survives of the home.
Lloyd retired as an edge trimmer with Florsheim Shoe Co. in Chaffee and later Cape Girardeau. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific. He was a member of VFW Post 3127 in Chaffee.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Gayla (Kevin) Schearf of Chaffee; four brothers, Gene Schearf of Advance, Missouri, Glen Schearf and Elmer Schearf, both of Cape Girardeau, and Alvin Schearf of Delta; a sister, Mildred Campbell of St. Louis; and two great-granddaughters, Rea Spear of Springfield, Missouri, and Terria Frederick of Dexter, Missouri.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Leona Abernathy; and two brothers, Levis and Don Schearf.
Graveside services were at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with military honors. Joe Mohorc did a small VFW service.
