Lloyd H. Loftin, 77, 606 Silver Springs Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 15, 1915, at Commerce, son of Lee and Melissa Ramsey Loftin. He and Edith Jenkins were married Nov. 12, 1938, in Cape Girardeau. She died June 15, 1981.
Loftin had worked on the river all his life. He was a Diesel engineer with Valley Barge Lines 14 years, retiring in February 1977. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, and Advance Masonic Lodge AF&AM.
Survivors include a son, Edd Loftin of Agoura Hills, Calif.; two sisters, Genevieve Robert of Benton, Gladys Clark of St. Charles; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Neil Stein will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. today.
