Lloyd C. Sides, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 5, 1996, at the Heartland Care Center.
He was born Dec. 14, 1918, in Fruitland, the son of Samuel Price and Lula Gordon Sides.
Sides was a World War II veteran, serving in the European Theater as a crewman in the light tank division. He was awarded five campaign stars. He worked for the Byrd Township as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Althenthal Journs Post 158 in Jackson and the V.F.W. Post in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Sides of Festus, Steven Sides of Cape Girardeau and John Sides of St. Louis; one daughter, Marcia Hobbs of Jackson; five sisters, Virginia Lou Reihn of Ashland, Rosemary Stearns and Nancy Prince of Burfordville, Betty June Marlett of Perryville and Dorothy Link of Castleberry, Ill.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.
