JONESBORO, Ill. -- Lisa Gaye Mitchem, 62, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 24, 1959, in East Prairie, Missouri, to the late Dana and Deloma Jean Jones McCourt. She married Rodney Mitchem, and he preceded her in death May 31, 2015.
Lisa worked for the hat factory in Oran, Missouri. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton, Missouri. She loved to fish and sit on the deck and play with dogs.
She is survived by her fiance, Scott Griffith of Jonesboro; son, Michael (Shelly) Roberds of Millersville; grandson, Dalton Roberds of Millersville; two brothers-in-law, Scott (Naoko) Mitchem of Los Angeles and Russell Mitchem of Sikeston, Missouri; sister, Crystal (Todd) Gosche of Commerce, Missouri; six nieces, Beth (Larry) Pulliam; Madisyn (Ryan) Gosche-Tellez of Benton; Maiko (Matt) Greenleaf of Arcadia, California; Cynthia Mitchem of Los Angeles; Bailey Mitchem of Bell City, Missouri; and Bailey (Josh) Hulvey of Marble Hill, Missouri; two nephews, Trey (Jordon) Gosche of Benton and William Scott Mitchem of Bell City; great-niece, MaKynna Gosche-Tellez; great-nephew, Trace Gosche of Benton; and her father-in-law, Richard (Ella) Mitchem of Scott City.
Lisa was preceded in death by her mother and father, Dana an Jean McCourt; mother-in-law, Jean Mitchem; husband, Rodney Mitchem; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
