Linus Aloysius Heisserer, 87, of Scott City died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau. He was born Oct. 29, 1919, at Kelso, Mo., son of August and Clara Bucher Heisserer. He and Frances Marie Sietman were married Sept. 8, 1943, at Oran, Mo. She died Aug. 30, 1999...

Linus Aloysius Heisserer, 87, of Scott City died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 29, 1919, at Kelso, Mo., son of August and Clara Bucher Heisserer. He and Frances Marie Sietman were married Sept. 8, 1943, at Oran, Mo. She died Aug. 30, 1999.

Heisserer had worked for the Army Corps of Engineers, and had been food service manager at Southeast Missouri State University.

He was in the U.S. Army Air Force 26 years, serving in World War II and the Korean War.

Heisserer was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, VFW Post 6407 and Knights of Columbus Council 6420 in Scott City.

Survivors include three sons, Gus and Tony Heisserer of Scott City, Bill Heisserer of Plano, Texas; five daughters, Jane Jamaitis of Manchester, Conn., Linda Mason of Scott City, Delores Chambers of Manhattan, Kan., Lisa Eftink of Benton, Mo., Karen Beggs of Kelso; three brothers, Lawrence Heisserer of Benton, Barney Heisserer of Kelso, Cletus Heisserer of St. Louis; two sisters, Liz Dannenmueller and Rita Eichhorn of Kelso; and 17 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Parish prayers will be at 6.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church in Scott City, with the Revs. James Seyer and Normand Varone officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
