Lindell Fredrich Riehn, 90, of Jackson died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Aug. 19, 1918, at Laflin, Mo., son of George William and Carrie J. Clippard Riehn. He and Lillian Marie McCullough were married Sept. 23, 1949. She died Aug. 10, 2004...

Lindell Fredrich Riehn, 90, of Jackson died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 19, 1918, at Laflin, Mo., son of George William and Carrie J. Clippard Riehn. He and Lillian Marie McCullough were married Sept. 23, 1949. She died Aug. 10, 2004.

Riehn was a mechanic 22 years at McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis, retiring in 1973. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and its Usher Committee, Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158, and life member of VFW Post 10495.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He received four Bronze Stars.

Survivors include a son, Greg Dyer of St. Charles, Mo.; two grandchildren, Travis (Jennifer) Dyer of Bowling Green, Mo., Felecia Dyer of Golden Valley, Ariz.; and a great-grandson, Jacob Dyer.

He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church. An American Legion service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery with full military honors to be conducted.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
