Lindell Wayne Mayfield, 73, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Millersville, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at Heartland Care and Rehab.
He was born Feb. 21, 1940, in Mayfield Holler, to Dayton and Kate Lincoln Mayfield. He married Ruth Green on March 19, 1960.
Lindell worked at Superior Electric in Cape Girardeau for 15 years and then for Natural Gas Pipeline and Ricketts Lumber Co. in Marble Hill, Mo. He drove heavy equipment for Larry Hartle and David Hahn and worked at Rose-Con Cement Co. in Scott City.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Danny (Teressa) Mayfield and Kevin (Phyllis) Mayfield of Jackson and Gary Mayfield of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Floyd Mayfield of Marble Hill; a sister, Dorothy Doggett of Arnold, Mo.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Darrell, Hobart and Shelby, and a sister, Faye.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donnie Ford officiating. Burial will be in Pulliam Cemetery.
