Linda Goodson, 83, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeu. Linda was born July 23, 1939, in Farmington, Missouri. She was raised by her grandparents, Ernest and Florence Hartle. She and Dean Goodson were married Nov. 8, 1963. He preceded her in death March 29, 2002...

Linda Goodson, 83, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeu.

Linda was born July 23, 1939, in Farmington, Missouri. She was raised by her grandparents, Ernest and Florence Hartle. She and Dean Goodson were married Nov. 8, 1963. He preceded her in death March 29, 2002.

Linda was a graduate of Jackson High School. She worked 30 years as a librarian at Riverside Regional Library in Jackson. When Dean became disabled due to an automobile accident, Linda stayed home to care for him.

Linda was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Fruitland. She was very passionate about decorating the church for holidays and other church occasions. Linda enjoyed attending and watching the sports events of her boys and later her grandchildren. She loved animals, especially her feline companion, Miss Kitty.

Loving survivors include two sons, Todd Goodson and Jeffrey "Jeff" Goodson; and six grandchildren, Lindy, Grant, McKenzie, Jordan, Kanaan and Whitten.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at St. John's United Church of Christ of Christ in Fruitland.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at the church, with Dr. Rodney Pensel officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. John's United Church of Christ.
