Linda Bevens
OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Linda Bevens, age 63, of Olive Branch died suddenly Thursday evening, July 2, 2009, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Dec. 23, 1945, in Elco, Ill., to Alguquine and Ruby Ilene Bridges May. She and Ford Bevens Jr. were married Oct. 17, 1965. He survives her.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Ford, of Olive Branch; a son, Michael Bevens of Olive Branch; two daughters, Rhonda Powell of Olive Branch and Crystoil VanHorne of Houston; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Willa Simmons of McClure, Ill., Dixie Reed of French Village, Mo., and Barbara Bailey of Olive Branch; two brothers, Robert May of Thebes, Ill., and Thomas May of Cape Girardeau; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ford Bevens III; a sister, Diane Hammond; and five brothers, Cecil, Leonard, Ronnie, Patrick and Jackie May.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2009, at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at the funeral home, with the Revs. Darrell E. Faire Sr. and. Stephen R. Butler officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.
