Linda Ruth Anderson, 71, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at Monticello House.

She was born March 9, 1946, in Bakersfield, California, daughter of Raymond and Hazel McCallie Brown.

Linda graduated from East Bakersfield (California) High School in 1964.

She and Jerry Sterling Sr. were married in June 1964. The family moved to Missouri in 1981. She later married Robert Anderson on Dec. 11, 1992, and he preceded her in death Nov. 4, 2016.

She was a member of the Cape County Cowboy Church in Oak Ridge. She worked at the Jackson Senior Center, helping with the volunteers and with the Meals on Wheels program. She loved her family and loved her church.

Loving survivors include her son, Jerry (Sheri) Sterling of Fruitland; her daughter, Melissa (Phillip) Wilson of Canalou, Missouri; granddaughter, Hailey Sterling of Fruitland; granddaughter, Miranda Wilson of Canalou; her sister, Joyce Treadwell of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, David and Louis Brown; along with many nieces and nephews.

A special “Thank you” from the family to Linda Estes for her friendship and support during this difficult time.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andy; and two brothers.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Jackson Senior Center.
