Lillie M. Matthews, 91, of St. Louis died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Delmar Gardens Nursing Home in St. Louis. She was born April 16, 1912, at Whitewater, daughter of David R. and Jesse Fulbright Statler. Matthews had worked at Forest City Manufacturing and also at Toby Lane Co. in St. Louis many years...

Lillie M. Matthews, 91, of St. Louis died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Delmar Gardens Nursing Home in St. Louis.

She was born April 16, 1912, at Whitewater, daughter of David R. and Jesse Fulbright Statler.

Matthews had worked at Forest City Manufacturing and also at Toby Lane Co. in St. Louis many years.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Matthews of St. Peters, Mo., David Matthews of Edwardsville, Ill.; a daughter, Mary Spilker of Florissant, Mo.; a sister, Irene Sewing of Jackson; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond McAfee officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
