Lillian Elizabeth Smith, 96, of Scott City passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Dec. 5, 1918, in Fornfelt, daughter of Louis William and Carolina Heisserer. She and Dorris William Smith were married Jan, 17, 1942, in Kelso, Missouri. Lillian Elizabeth Smith, 96, of Scott City passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 5, 1918, in Fornfelt, daughter of Louis William and Carolina Heisserer. She and Dorris William Smith were married Jan, 17, 1942, in Kelso, Missouri. He preceded her in death Dec. 7, 2011.

She and her husband farmed side by side for more than 50 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City.

Loving survivors are a son, Floyd (Karen) Smith of Scott City; a daughter, Linda (Ray) Smith of Scott City; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Martens, Chad (Sheri) Smith, Kenneth (Erika) Smith, Brian (Jackie) Smith, Ray (Brittany) Smith and Crystal (Justin) Smith; and nine great-grandchildren, Breanna and Nicole Martens, Joey Cobb, Timothy Martens, Bailey and Stetson Smith and Mackenzie, Mason and Elizabeth Smith.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, a brother, an infant sister and a grandson, Daniel Smith.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with Rev. Oliver Clavin as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Scott City.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Scott City was in charge of arrangements.
