Lillian U. Joiner, 92, of Cape Girardeau died at her home Monday, Feb. 28, 2005.
She was born Sept. 4, 1912, in Norma, Tenn., daughter of William Franklin and Patsy J. Byrd Sharp. She and Troas Joiner were married May 18, 1937, in Peron, Ark. He preceded her in death July 11, 1982.
Mrs. Joiner was a graduate of Jacksboro, Tenn., High School and Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn.
She taught grade school in Caryville, Tenn., until she was married. She was an officer in Joiner Construction and Solar Pools and Chemicals until retiring in 1990. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a son, William Troas Joiner of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Fleda Ayers of LaFollette, Tenn., Doris Herskovitz of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and a grandson, William Troas Joiner II.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to service time Thursday.
The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel Building Fund, or Alzheimer's Association.
