Lillian C. Guiling, the daughter of the late William P. and Lealer Ann Wood Fowler, was born in Wayne County, Tenn., on May 5, 1921, and passed at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Feb. 22, 2003, at the age of 81 years, 9 months and 17 days.
Ms. Guiling had been a resident of Essex, Mo., until 1971, when she moved to Cape Girardeau, where she lived until her death. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau.
On March 7, 1938, she was married to Curtis C. "Dude" Guiling. He preceded her in death in Nov. 2, 1991. She is also preceded in death by one son, Charles Guiling, on March 18, 2002.
Survivors are a daughter-in-law, Joel Guiling of Cape Girardeau; one grandson and his wife, Tim and Stacey Guiling of St. Louis, Mo.; and a brother, Buford Fowler of Sikeston, Mo. Other relatives and many friends also survive.
She is preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Friends may call Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, with the Rev. Doyle Corlew of Dexter officiating.
Interment will be in Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service in charge of all the arrangements.
