JACKSON -- Lillian A. Macke, 85, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson.
She was born Jan. 9, 1915, at Gordonville, the daughter of William and Bertha Birk Niemann.
On Jan. 10, 1942, she married Arnold A. Macke. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1969.
She is survived by three sons, Sam and Paul Macke of Jackson, and Victor Macke of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Lilly Newell of Jackson; a brother, William Niemann of Jackson; two brothers-in-law, Elmer Macke of Jackson and Ernest Macke of St. Louis; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by five brothers.
Mrs. Macke was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville. She later became a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was a member for over 50 years.
She also was a member of the church's JOY Group. Mrs. Macke worked as a cook for St. Paul Lutheran School for 33 years before retiring in 1988. She also worked at the former Terrace Restaurant in Jackson. She and her husband also worked together on their farm near Millersville, where she had lived since 1951.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson with the Revs. David Johnson and Robert Henrichs officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Friends may call this evening at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m.
