Lila Blythe Lila Genevieve Blythe, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. Lila Genevieve Blythe, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Joseph Michael and Dorcas Irene Lorenz Reddick. She and William V. Blythe were married May 6, 1960, in Cape Girardeau. He died in February 1983.

Blythe graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School and Steimle Business College in Cape Girardeau. She was the former owner of Reddick's Flower Shop in Cape Girardeau. Blythe also worked as a senior accountant for Hoche & Barkley CPA firm. She later owned Driftwood Aquariam Pet Store in Paducah, Ky. Blythe moved back to Cape Girardeau from Paducah in the late 1980s.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mary Danehower of Mountainview, Calif.; two nieces, Michele E. Hollis of Scott City, Terri Howell of New York; two nephews, Joe M. Reddick of Kansas City, Mo., Malcolm Reddick II of Sikeston, Mo.

Survivors include three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Strong officiating.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Paducah.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri, 2536 Boutin Drive.
