MINER, Mo. -- Liddie E. Phillips, 89, of Miner died Saturday, July 10, 2004, at her home. She was born Oct. 9, 1914, at Dell, Ark., daughter of Nealy and Mamie Sutts Tucker. She and William Phillips were married June 28, 1934, and he died Aug. 8, 1974. Together they had owned and operated Phillips Grocery in Sikeston, Mo...

MINER, Mo. -- Liddie E. Phillips, 89, of Miner died Saturday, July 10, 2004, at her home.

She was born Oct. 9, 1914, at Dell, Ark., daughter of Nealy and Mamie Sutts Tucker.

She and William Phillips were married June 28, 1934, and he died Aug. 8, 1974. Together they had owned and operated Phillips Grocery in Sikeston, Mo.

Survivors include three sons, Bill Phillips of Oakland, Tenn., Travis Phillips of Huber Heights, Ohio, Eugene Phillips of Sikeston; two daughters, Myrna Carlisle and Sharon Clark, both of Sikeston; a sister, Louise Elkins of Fayetteville, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and two grandsons.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Garden of Memories at Sikeston.
