BENTON -- Funeral service for Lewis Ward Hunter of Benton will be held at 2 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. John Gregory will officiate, with burial in Old Morley Cemetery.

Hunter, 86, died Friday, Sept. 11, 1992, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 31, 1906, son of Lewis Linn and Ella Shanks Hunter. He and Cara Adams were married June 14, 1942.

Hunter attended Southeast Missouri State University and Washington University. He was a 50-year member of Morley Masonic Lodge 184.

He had worked at Scott County Bank in Morley, was a machinist at Emerson Electric in St. Louis, and had owned Hunter's Garage in Morley. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He is survived by his wife.
