FREDERICKTOWN -- Lewis W. French, 77, of Fredericktown died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, at his home.
He was born July 18, 1919, at Butte, Mont., to Lewis W. and Bertha Gray French.
On Sept. 19, 1940, he married Norma L. Hussman. She died Aug. 1, 1988.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include three sons, Lewis French Jr. of Rocky Mount, Harry French of Festus and John French of Perryville; two daughters, Donna Gaines of Festus and Judy Hoge of Elsah, Ill.; three sisters, Leota Woods of Florida, May Sparrow of Cahokia, Ill., and June McCannless of Rolling Fork, Miss.; a brother, John French of Glen Carbon, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 4 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 6:30 until time of service at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. Services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Home Cemetery.
