DELTA, Mo. -- Levis F. Schearf, 77, of Delta died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 21, 1923, at Delta, son of Philip Ludwig and Myrtle Amelia Stoffregen Schearf. He and Rachel Surface were married Oct. 25, 1952. She died March 25, 2000.
Schearf had worked on a maintenance crew for the Missouri State Highway Department until retiring.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, specifically in the South Pacific area.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Delta.
Survivors include six brothers, Lloyd Schearf, Alvin Schearf and Donald Schearf, all of Chaffee, Mo., Phillip Schearf of Advance, Mo., and Glen Schearf and Elmer Schearf, both of Cape Girardeau; and a sister, Mildred Campbell of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kenyon Cemetery in Delta, with the Rev. Eric Hodges officiating.
