Letha Mae Spencer, 103, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Dec. 10, 1917, in Randolph County, Arkansas, to Mont G. and Tina Ellen Grissom Diamond. She married Lee David Spencer on March 22, 1936, and he preceded her in death June 12, 1986.

She was a housewife, a devout Christian and a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

She is survived by a son, David (Elizabeth) Spencer of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Patty Shaffer (Rick) Murphy and Barbara Limbaugh of Cape Girardeau and Anita Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Beverly (David) Mirgeaux, Brian (Beth) Shaffer, Nancy (Tom) Morris, Brenda (Bill) White, John David (Amy) Spencer, Joy (Chris) Short, Dana (David) Patton, Lynda (Tom) Heisserer and Michael (Karla) Gross; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Holly, Matt, Shane, Molly, Lexie, Erin, Savannah, Erin, Gigi, Summer, Ashley, Rachael, Audrey, Julianne and Macy; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sons-in-law, Donald Shaffer, Tom Johnson Jon Limbaugh; three brothers; and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel with the Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Face masks are required for visitation and service.
