Leta "Katie" Kay Lange, 73, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
Katie was born Feb. 23, 1948, to Earmon and Marie Marlow Blake in Springhill, Louisiana. She and Gary Lange were married Oct. 31, 2004, in Jackson. He survives of the home.
She was a female member of the Elks Lodge, active with the Red Hat Society, loved to travel and was a big plant enthusiast. Katie overcame a lot of health problems and became one of few to overcome dialysis. She was generous, loving and a chaser of life who will be missed dearly by many.
In addition to her loving husband, Katie is survived by two children, John Adams of Urbana, Illinois, and Kindra Adams of Mayfield, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Tracy Adams of Cape Girardeau, Kaylea Sweat of Cape Girardeau, Taylor Sweat of Jackson and Tony Adams of Mayfield, Kentucky; and two brothers, Bob Blake of Union, Missouri, and Rick Blake of Doniphan, Missouri.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service for will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at the Cape Girardeau Elks Lodge, 639 Elk Ln, Cape Girardeau, MO.
Flowers or plants may be sent in memory of Katie to the Cape Girardeau Elks Lodge for the memorial service or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude at www.stjude.org/.
McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
