CHAFFEE, Mo. -- James Lester Triplett, 79, of Sikeston, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born March 24, 1925, at Dexter, Mo., son of H.C. and Effie Elizabeth Duncan Triplett. He and Ruth Wornica were married Feb. 26, 1945...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- James Lester Triplett, 79, of Sikeston, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 24, 1925, at Dexter, Mo., son of H.C. and Effie Elizabeth Duncan Triplett. He and Ruth Wornica were married Feb. 26, 1945.

Mr. Triplett was a member of Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, and had previously been a member of Morley Church of God.

Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Loyd and Debbie Triplett of Grayridge, Mo.; a sister, Thelma Hampton of Hardin, Ky.; two grandsons and a granddaughter-in-law, Michael Triplett, and Steven and Janet Triplett of Dallas, Texas.

Two brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Carl Addison, pastor of Tanner Street Church of God, will officiate. Burial will be in New Morley Cemetery at Morley, Mo.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Bailey, Si Dacus, Jim Brase, Larry Farrenburg, Bud LaRue and Jim Bob Daugherty.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Anderson, Lester Stafford, Vic McCoy, Merle Keefer, Ray Smith, Wayne Richbourg and Fuzzy Estes.
