OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Graveside service for Lester "Cotton" Thompson of Olive Branch was held Tuesday at Rosehill Cemetery in Thebes, Ill. Audry "Lee" Thompson and the Rev. Leon Wilkins officiated.

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., was in charge of arrangements.

Thompson, 93, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at his home.

He was born June 22, 1909, in Diswood, Ill., son of Oscar and Eva Shafer Thompson. He and Lucille Poole were married June 10, 1936.

Thompson was a retired laborer and owned a furniture store many years in Cairo, Ill. He attended McClure Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Dixie Bevill, Brenda White and Sherry Hale, all of Olive Branch; two sons, Audry and Larry Thompson of Olive Branch; two half sisters, Betty Snell and Lois Kelley of Thebes; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
