PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Lester L. Schremp, 77, of Perryville died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 18, 1923, in Perryville, son of Aron and Victoria Huber Schremp. He and Ruth W. Welland were married Oct. 15, 1949.
Mr. Schremp was a Chrysler production worker, farmed livestock and worked at the Weldon Springs Chemical Plant.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 133, VFW Post 4282 and the AM Vets Post 94.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Roger Schremp of Perryville; two brothers, Edgar Schremp of St. Louis and Clarence Schremp of Perryville; two sisters, Elsie Ridgen and Theresa Smith, both of St. Louis; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 13 brothers and sisters.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Monday and from 6:30 to 9:40 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Chapel.
A Catholic wake will take place at 7 p.m., an American Legion wake at 7:15 p.m. and a VFW wake at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin Faustz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
