JACKSON -- Lester "Bud" Savers, 73, of Jackson died Friday, Sept. 20, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 30, 1922, at Jackson, son of Bern and Minnie Weiss Savers.

He married Marie Wedekind on Aug. 22, 1948. She survives.

He was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ at Jackson. He worked for Skinner Plumbing & Heating for 25 years and later became a self-employed heating and cooling specialist. He was also a farmer. He was a member of Excelsior Masonic Lodge of Jackson and Scottish Rite.

Other survivors include daughters, Kathy Curtis of Mexico, Mo., and Linda Drum of Millersville; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sisters.

Service will be held at McCombs Funeral Home Chapel Monday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 4 to 8 p.m. A Masonic Service will be held at 7.
