SIKESTON, Mo. -- Lester Lee Rodgers, 75, of Sikeston died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 12, 1926, in St. Louis, son of Tillman and Opal Robinson Rodgers. He and Joan Kornic were married Oct. 22, 1979, at Sikeston.
Rodgers was a self-employed painter many years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles Rodgers of Memphis, Tenn., Eddie Rodgers of Rawlins, Wyo.; four daughters, Linda Wray of Memphis, Deana Rothwell of Hope, Ark., Jeanie Cantu and Lisa Basaldua of Corpus Christi, Texas; three stepsons, John Kellebrew of Ardoch, N.D., Daryl Kellebrew of Sheridan, Ark., Jeff Kellebrew of Roland, Ark.; a stepdaughter, Diana Southerland of Franklin, Tenn.; a brother, Earl Rodgers of Beebe, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jim Beaird officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
