McCLURE, Ill. Lester Ray Johnson, 56, formerly of McClure, Ill., died Friday, Sept. 24, 1993, at R.T. Jones Hospital in Canton, Ga.
He was born Feb. 9, 1937, in Alexander County, Ill., son of Lester Raymond and Naomi Louis Randol Johnson.
He married Joann Daily in 1955 in Cape Girardeau. She died in 1966.
Johnson then married Marie Chefkez, Nov. 14, 1970, at St. Charles, Mo.
Johnson worked for Snappy Delivery while living in the Cape Girardeau area.
Survivors include his mother; his wife; three sons, Kenneth Johnson of Canton, Ga., Roger Johnson of Acworth, Ga., Jeff Johnson of St. Charles, Mo.; two daughters, Teresa Koch of Winfield, Mo., Lezlee Johnson of Ellijay, Ga.; four step-sons, Ronald Howard, Kirk Howard and Byron Howard, all of St. Louis, Kent Howard of San Diego, Calif.; four step-daughters, Karen Tolbert of Wentzville, Mo., Diane Dixon of St. Ann, Mo., Joy Kitchell of Bellrive, Mo., Ann Hitt of Canton, Mo.; a brother, Bob Johnson of Troy, Ohio; three sisters, Cyd Hamby of Woodstock, Ga., Margaret Stubbings of Marietta, Ga., Linda Jones of Fayetteville, Ark.; 13 grandchildren and 14 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a wife and a son.
Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. Tuesday at the McClure United Pentecostal Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the McClure United Pentecostal Church, with the Rev. Doyle Randol officiating.
Burial will follow in Lindsey Cemetery in McClure.
