Lester Hayes Null Sr., 73, of East Liverpool, Ohio, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998. He was born May 21, 1924, at Hahn, son of Caria and Bertha Shell Null. Lester Hayes Null Sr., 73, of East Liverpool, Ohio, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998.

He was born May 21, 1924, at Hahn, son of Caria and Bertha Shell Null.

Null was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. He served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific and the Philippines during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; six sons, Lester Null Jr. of New Orleans, Terry, John, Richard, James and David Null, all of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Myrtle McCormack of Marble Hill, Mildred Cook of Chaffee; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral service was held Jan. 9 at Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery there, with military graveside rites.
