Lester L. "Red" Kynion, 88, of Granite City, Ill., died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, at Gateway Medical Center in Granite City.
He was born Dec. 25, 1916, in Advance, Mo., son of Henry and Pearl Lowe Kynion. He and Hazel V. Hosea were married Jan. 20, 1938.
Kynion was a member of the St. Louis Bible School Student Association, Tri-City Area Association for the Handicapped, and New Opportunity Incorporated Handicap Workshop in Granite City.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Kynion of Granite City; a brother, Everett Kynion of Marine, Ill.; two sisters, Clara Kidd of Cape Girardeau and Alice Hopper of Ballwin, Mo.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Friends may call Thursday from 11 a.m. to service time at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Edwin Hogrebe and Herb Hogrebe officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
