DEXTER -- Lester E. Underhile, 85, of Dexter, died Friday, Oct. 27, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 21, 1910 at Vienna, Ill., son of Eugene and Zora Leona Mahan Underhile.
He lived in Aurora, Ill., 40 years before moving to Dexter in 1973. He was a retired welder and a member of the Word of Faith Church in Bernie.
He married Edna M. Wilson in Geneva, Ill., Dec. 14, 1950. She preceded him in death Dec. 14, 1973.
He is survived by four sons, David Underhile and Robert Underhile, both of Edmond, Okla., and Wayne Underhile and Mark Underhile, both of Dexter; three daughters, Naomi Stender and Leona Dement, both of Dexter, and Sandra McCormick of Okmulgee, Okla.; a brother, Chuck Underhile, of Aurora; a sister, Mary Skoff, of Kansas City; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter, with the Rev. Dale Hartle of Bernie officiating. A eulogy will be given by Phillip Underhile of Illinois. Graveside service will be held at the Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Aurora Tuesday at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
