ANNA, Ill. -- Lester J. Dillow, 76, of Anna died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at Union County Hospital.
He was born March 20, 1925, in Union County, son of Claude E. and Dessie Casey Dillow. He and Elizabeth "Liz" McMillion were married Oct. 24, 1944, in St. Louis.
Dillow retired from E.T. Simonds Construction Co. He was a life member and past commander of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.
He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James Dillow of Anna; two daughters, Sandra Galbraith of Clinton, Ark., Shirley Woods of Alto Pass, Ill.; a sister, Sarah Duty of Saratoga, Ill.; two brothers, Clarence and Conrad Dillow of Cobden, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 6 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Burial will be in Casper Cemetery, with military honors by VFW Post 3455.
