Lester L. DePriest, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 29, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born June 16, 1929, in Inkster, Mich., son of James and Claudia Turner DePriest. He and Betty Holley were married in 1947 at Charleston, Mo.
Lester was a distributor with Tom's Snack Foods more than 35 years. He was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Timothy DePriest of Cape Girardeau, George L. and Marilyn DePriest of Park Hills, Mo., Steven DePriest of Cape Girardeau, David and Micki DePriest of Farmington, Mo., Mark and Pam DePriest of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Joe Hoffmeister of Millersville, Mo.; a sister, Evangeline DePriest of Charleston, Mo.; a brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Polly DePriest of Cookeville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a stepsister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Dr. Derek Staples officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.
