Lester Kavanaugh Conway, 73, 1923 Westwood, died Friday, April 12, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born March 28, 1923, in Vilonia, Ark., son of Kavanaugh Henderson and Lillie May Davis Conway. He and Ellouise Boyd were married Aug. 1, 1952, in North Little Rock, Ark.

Conway was a truck driver with Arkansas Best Freight 20 years, retiring in 1977. He then was a driver for Ryder Student Transportation and Pullen Brothers.

He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, a Sunday School class and Sam's Club. He was a member of Harold O. Grauel Masonic Lodge 672 AF&AM, a Masonic Lodge in North Little Rock, and Teamsters Local 574. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Lester, Mike and Tim Conway of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Charles Conway of Cabot, Ark.; two sisters, Pearl McKinzie of North Little Rock, Mary Smalling of Scott, Ark., and a grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. William Burke officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, with military rites conducted by VFW Post 3838.
