Les "Coach" Beasley, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, at his home.
He was born Aug. 10, 1953, in Moultrie, Georgia, to Leslie Morris Sr. and Thelma Christine Griffin Beasley. He and Rita Warner were married March 11, 1977, in Cape Girardeau County.
Les was a graduate of Anchor Bay High School in Michigan.
He worked for Griffaw Furniture Manufacturing Co. and Cape-Kil Pest Control.
He was a member of the U.S.A. Missouri Softball Hall of Fame and refereed Optimist Basketball for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Beasley; son, Jeff (Stacy) Beasley, and daughter, Jessie (Arthur) Schaefer, all of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Gary, Tommy and David Beasley; two sisters, Sherry Miller and Joyce Schnaare; three grandchildren, Savannah, Aaliyah and Phillip; one great-grandchild, Kailor; and a granddog, Kobe.
Les was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may visit the family from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
