PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Leroy S. Vernon, 63, of Perryville died Monday, July 16, 2001, at his home.
He was born Sept. 7, 1937, in Perry County, Mo., son of Elmer and Lela Boxdorfer Vernon. He and Glenda M. Mitchell were married Nov. 21, 1959.
Vernon was a mill operator, and member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Rocky, Ricky and Deron Vernon of Perryville, Terry Vernon of Crosstown, Mo.; five daughters, Tammie Lohmann of Menfro, Mo., Yvonne Buerck, Robin Flieg and Rachael Flaherty, all of Perryville, and Stephanie Boland of Minnith, Mo.
Also surviving are six brothers, Harold "Jake," Johnny "Elvis," Willard "Dick," Ray "Rusty," Larry and Garry Vernon, all of Perryville; four sisters, Evelyn Cottner, Doloris Neuling and Sharon Baudendistel, all of Perryville, Connie Kempher of Evansville, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Thursday, and 6:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Craig Otto officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
