CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Leroy Arnold Uhrhan, 80, of Chaffee died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 12, 1930, in New Hamburg, Mo., son of Ulrich and Amanda Pobst Uhrhan. He and Mary Francis "Honeybee" Groves were married Oct. 22, 1955, in New Hamburg. She died April 7, 1974.
Leroy was a mechanic at Florsheim Shoe Co. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include three sons, Stan Uhrhan of Morley, Mo., Bryan (Stefanie) Uhrhan of Chaffee, Rodney (Cindy) Uhrhan of Scott City; a daughter, Diana Curry of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Virginia Sides of Chaffee; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers, and two sisters.
Visitation will be after 4 today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, with parish prayers at 7 and an Elks service at 8.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in St. Ambrose Cemetery, with full military honors.
