MARBLE HILL -- Leroy J. Stevens, 54, of Marble Hill died Thursday, April 17, 1997, at his home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1943, at Marble Hill, son of Pinkney and Eula Baugher Stevens. He and Patty L. Stiltner were married Nov. 19, 1996.
Stevens was retired from the military, and had served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He had also been a truck driver with Bollinger County Highway Department.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James Stevens of Marble Hill; a daughter, Beverly Welker of Marble Hill; two stepsons, Jim Johnson and Mark Nance of Marble Hill; a stepdaughter, Annette Mounts of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Marion and David Stevens of Marble Hill; six sisters, Vanna Beard, Vernadine Angle, Maxine Brotherton, Shirley Thele, Brenda Mason, and Viola Moore, all of Marble Hill; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Lloyd Green and Jess Mills officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery, with graveside rites by VFW Post 5900.
