Leota E. Priest, 94, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 29, 1922, in St. Louis, daughter of Martin and Hallie Martin Dillingham. She and George Priest were married in 1943. They had four children together.
Leota worked for a number of years outside the home.
She worked at the former Priest Inc. in both locations in Jackson and Cape Girardeau, Howard's Athletic Goods and Zickfield's Jewelry and Gifts, both in Cape Girardeau, and The Ladies Toggery and Dalton Florist in Jackson.
She was a charter member of Kimbeland Country Club in Jackson.
Leota was a loving and devoted mother.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Mary (Kenneth) Blake of South County in St. Louis, and two sons, Tom Priest of Jackson and Mark (the late Sharon) Priest of Grand Junction, Colorado.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, George William "Bill" Priest Jr.; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Priest.
Memorial visitation will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.
