Leora Brown, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 13, 1915, in Jackson, daughter of Leo and Caroline Roloff Schaper. She and G. Harold Brown were married Oct. 17, 1941. He died June 22, 1983.
Brown taught at Sandy Ridge and McFerron schools in the Oak Ridge area before her marriage. She attended Southeast Missouri State University and Duluth State University in Duluth, Minn., and was certified to teach elementary education.
She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, and Silver Jubilee Retirement Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Haman of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Alice Godwin of Tavares, Fla.; and a grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, three brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 5:30-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. James Caughlan officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
