JACKSON, Mo. -- Leonard M. Tripp, 84, of Jackson died Monday, April 15, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 18, 1917, at Neelys Landing, Mo., son of Willis and Renee Atchison Tripp. He and Virginia Gohn were married May 18, 1940.
Tripp first worked at Brockmire Timber Co. in Egypt Mills, Mo. He then moved to St. Louis where he lived 40 years. He worked at Leston Food and then 22 years at Arnold Jr. Fenton Trucking Co., retiring in 1975. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas, Mo.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Franklin and Louis Tripp of Jackson; three daughters, Pauline Skelly and Carol Kon of St. Louis, Margaret Briscoe of Arnold, Mo.; four brothers, Ralph and Webster Tripp of Cape Girardeau, Jerry Tripp of High Ridge, Mo., Paul Tripp of San Mateo, Calif.; three sisters, Beatrice Jacobs of Jackson, Dorothy Beard of Wyandotte, Okla., Jewel Donivan of Pacific, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Revs. Don Slatton and Johnny Clements will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
