MATTHEWS, Mo. -- Leonard Junior Nation, 64, of Matthews died Friday, March 9, 2001, at his home. He was born Jan. 13, 1937, at Hugo, Okla., son of Leonard Paul and Lecia Himes Nation. He and Charlotte Porter were married Sept. 13, 1958. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Matthews and had worked as a warehouse loader for 30 years before retiring...

MATTHEWS, Mo. -- Leonard Junior Nation, 64, of Matthews died Friday, March 9, 2001, at his home.

He was born Jan. 13, 1937, at Hugo, Okla., son of Leonard Paul and Lecia Himes Nation. He and Charlotte Porter were married Sept. 13, 1958.

He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Matthews and had worked as a warehouse loader for 30 years before retiring.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Mark L. Nation and Erik Nation, both of Springfield, Mo., and Kerry Nation of Bloomfield, Mo.; a daughter, Cherri Wisdom of Sikeston, Mo.; a brother, Vernon Nation of Lawton, Okla.; two sisters, Dovie Simpson of Hugo and Geraldine Kendrick of Fort Towson, Okla.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Revs. Cecil Adams and Rodney Dunlap will officiate. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery.
