BLOOMFIELD -- Leonard Baker, 77, of Bloomfield died Sunday, Dec. 15, 1996, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter.
He was born July 31, 1919, in Jasper, Ark., son of John Levi and Dora Bell Torex Baker. He and Delpha Juanita Holford were married Feb. 14, 1946, in Manila, Ark. She died Feb. 12, 1963.
Baker had lived at Essex most of his life. He moved to Bloomfield Nursing Center in 1993. Baker attended Walker Baptist Church near Bloomfield.
Survivors include three sons, Lester Baker of Essex, Bill Baker and Rick Bostic of Bloomfield; four daughters, Joyce Baker and Doris Linder of Salem, Ill., Barbara Wilkins of Luka, Ill., Linda McRoy of Bloomfield; two brothers, Leon Cowell of Louisiana, Lester Cowell of Colorado; two sisters, Arnola Collins of Clarksville, Ark., Florence Clayborn of Lamar, Ark.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerry Pennington officiating. Burial will be in Walker Church Cemetery.
